Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Event Preview
Fans of Samsung electronics are anticipating the technology innovator’s latest event to show off it’s new foldable smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked Event is slated for August 11, 2021.
Those who can’t wait until then for details are hungry for some morsels of information now, in rumor form.
Previewing the Galaxy Unpacked Event
Insiders anticipate that Samsung will show off three new phone designs, a watch and some ear buds.
No precise release dates have yet to be released, so fans will need to check later in the month to see when Samsung gives an update on when consumers can expect them to be available.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is one of the rumored phones. Users should anticipate a stronger design and support for the S Pen Pro stylus (it’s already working to connect with the Galaxy S21 Ultra). This new phone may also become the first from Samsung to feature an under-display camera. While no pricing details are available yet, Tom’s Guide indicates this unit might run at 20% of the cost of the Fold 2.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be an improvement to the company’s flip phone that went on sale in 2020, with Tom’s Guide noting it is rumored to cost less than the $1,449 price in 2020 for the precursor Galaxy Z Flip.
Also said to be debuted will be Galaxy Buds 2, which are wireless earbuds designed to introduce active noise cancellation.
In addition to these two new rumored phones, Samsung is said to be showing off a new Galaxy Watch 4, which might offer biomedical monitoring, such as a user’s body fat level and blood glucose readings.
Industry Analysts Weigh In on Samsung’s Business This Year
The news of the upcoming Samsung Unpacked Event is prompting analysts to take a look at the company’s prospects, going forward in 2021. For perspective, “the IT & Mobile Communications Business at Samsung has reported a 9% increase in sales on a yearly basis, but is down 22% from the previous quarter due to weak seasonality,” according to GSMArena.
Of course, we will have a better idea of Samsung’s prospects later in the month, after consumers have had an opportunity to purchase and start using the latest offerings from Samsung en masse.
Galaxy Unpacked Virtual Event
To keep everyone safe through social distancing, Samsung is not holding its Unpacked Event in person, but only virtually, via its website and through its channel on YouTube.
