It would seem Samsung has outdone itself yet again. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 is a major hit. The new flagship device is the 6th generation Note series phone. Yes, you read that right. Samsung decided to skip the Note 6 in favor of the Note 7 in order to have consistency with Note series and Galaxy S series releases. The Note 7 is a beauty to look at, but this desirable piece of technology comes at a cost, around $850, depending on the carrier you purchase it through. Is it worth the money? Let’s find out.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Review & Unboxing Video

The Galaxy Note 7 has a stylish, symmetrical design that comes with the dual edge curves that will now become the norm on Samsung devices. The Note 7 sports a 5.7-inch, 2560 x 1440 Quad HD Super AMOLED display screen that produces fantastic visuals. Fantastic visuals that will keep working even after being dropped in water. In fact, the Note 7 is water resistant up to 30 minutes in 5 feet of water according to Samsung.

The Note 7 is the first Samsung phone to include USB-C and USB 3.1. Why is this noteworthy? The USB-C can be used for super fast charging, while the USB 3.1 can be used for equally fast data connection – if you’re connected to a computer. And to sweeten the pot, the Note 7 comes with 64 GB of internal storage, with the option of using a Micro SD card up to 256 GB of additional storage. So in theory, you could have a smartphone with 300 GB of storage.

Many people are excited to see the return of the S Pen, especially since it’s received an upgrade. The stylus senses 4,096 levels of pressure – that’s twice the amount of last year’s model. Improved pressure means improved performance. And along with the improved stylus, the Note 7 comes with improved security. This is the first phone to come with an iris scanner on the front camera. The iris scanner appears to be fast and accurate, and even works if you are wearing contacts or glasses.

Overall, this is a pretty fantastic phone. If you like to have the next best thing, then there’s no need to wait.
