Samsung Announces New Hardware at Unpacked Event
While the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra announcements grabbed the most headlines, they weren’t the only new products unveiled by the tech giant at their virtual Unpacked event on August 5. Samsung also announced a new tablet, a new watch and new earbuds.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S7
If you’re looking for an Android tablet with an incredible display, look no further than the new Tab S7 and Tab S7 Plus. The Tab S7 has an 11-inch LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate while the Tab S7 Plus has a 12.4-inch OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate. Each has the latest Snapdragon 865 Plus processor allowing for 5G connectivity. At $649 and $849, the Tab S7 lineup does run on the higher end of pricing, but it does include the incredible S Pen, which you would have to pay extra for with most other tablets in this segment.
Galaxy Buds Live
Samsung’s new bean-shaped earbuds have been leaked for several months, and we finally know all the details. These truly wireless earbuds deliver a fresh take on active noise cancelation. Instead of the in-ear tips, Samsung’s noise canceling is designed to eliminate low, constant frequencies like the hum of an airplane, while letting in other sounds like announcements. The Galaxy Buds Live will cost $169 and can get up to six hours of battery life, and 21 hours with the charging case.
Galaxy Watch 3
The latest smartwatch from Samsung is the Galaxy Watch 3. It is thinner and lighter than the previous generation Galaxy Watch while having a larger display. Available in 41mm and 45mm, the Watch 3 features an always-on OLED display with Gorilla Glass. This new and improved watch will be the perfect companion for your new Note 20 Ultra. The Galaxy Watch 3 starts at $399 and is expected to ship by August 10.
