The Hottest Gadgets of Summer 2020
Despite disruptions in international supply chains and changes in consumer demand, this summer continues to promise a slew of exciting phones and tablets. The following are some of the hottest summer gadgets of 2020.
Apple iPad Pro 2020
The Apple iPad Pro 2020 is already available, but it’ll continue to be one of the hottest items of the summer (and likely next few years). Available in an 11- and a 12.9-inch version, the iPad Pro 2020 boasts faster internals and a better camera than its 2018 predecessor. The newest version also will support augmented reality functions in the future, which will eventually really set it apart.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Lite
Recently released in time for the summer season, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Lite provides serious iPad competition for those who prefer an Android platform. A robust design ensures that the tablet can more than hold its own against Apple’s iPad, and the Galaxy S6 Lite’s customizable options really distinguish it. The fact that an S Pen stylus is also included really helps too.
Bookending the summer season, Apple plans to release several iPhones this year. The Apple iPhone SE is already available, and it’s a bargain for many at $399. The phone features a future-proof A13 processor and an excellent camera. For those who wait until the end of summer, September or October will bring the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Max (unconfirmed names). These should continue to build on the iPhone 11 series, and some may have 5G connectivity.
Samsung Galaxy Fold 2
Samsung was early into foldable screen research, and the company intends to continue betting on the future of the technology. The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is expected sometime this summer, with rumors ranging from Quarter 2 to September 2020. Details about the new model are also scant. Some predictions forecast a glass screen, larger screen and (possibly) S Pen stylus.
Google Pixel 4A and 4A XL
Anticipated this June, the Google Pixel 4A and 4A XL will be in high demand. Last year’s Pixel 3 versions showed that there’s a budget-conscious market for the Pixel smartphone, and this year even more people will likely want them. One noticeable change will be the addition of a front-facing camera.
Many New Phones and Tablets
Whether you want a new phone or tablet, this summer promises to be a great one. For both iOS and Android users, there will be many hot gadgets in the coming months.
