A few weeks ago we took a closer look at the Redesigned Apple iPad Air. The tablet comes with a faster processor, amazing high resolution screen and a thinner, lighter body. The new iPad Mini with Retina Display also benefits from these improved features, but with a lower price tag.
iPad Mini with Retina Display vs iPad Air
The first generation iPad mini was released last year. While impressive as a smaller tablet, the Mini did not offer the high resolution screen experience of the larger iPad 4. This is not the case with the new iPad Mini with Retina Display, which has the same resolution as the new iPad Air. The Mini also benefits from the new A7 processor, high battery life and same storage space as the iPad Air.

The iPad Mini with Retina Display comes in 16, 32, 64 or 128 GB, ranging in price from $399 to $699. Same as the last iPad Mini, there is a 5 MP rear camera with 1080p HD video and a 1.2 MP front-facing camera with 720p HD video. The crisp, clear 7.9-inch screen is 2048x1536px (326ppi). The tablet uses the new A7 chip and M7 motion coprocessor. The dimensions are exactly the same as the last Mini (7.87 x 5.3 x 0.28 in) but the weight is slightly lighter (0.68 lbs. vs. 0.73).
