As summer has officially begun, so have the long awaited road trips. Despite the cramped car, and empty snack bag, the freedom that comes with the windows down, music blaring, and the sun shining on an open road, is unmatched. However, no matter how far you are traveling, you can’t forget the essentials. From going the right direction, to staying entertained, there are many must-haves to include in your road trip this summer. The item that tops my list? A reliable, trusted, and sturdy phone mount.
I’ve put thousands of miles on my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee over the past several years, and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. From Florida to northern Michigan, ProClip’s products have done wonders for my iPhone 16 Pro Max. In 2020, I purchased the center dash mount and the adjustable phone holder for my vehicle. Installation was quick and easy, and the tilt swivel on the backside allows for a 15 degree angle in any direction. This setup has proven to be incredibly durable over the years and consistently draws compliments from my passengers.
When it comes to car accessories, a ProClip is a must-have in my opinion. Not only do they benefit the driver, but also the passengers no matter where they are seated. The passenger and backseat tablet mounts are other fan favorite products in my family. Growing up, road trips were no big deal for my sister and I since we were able to snap our iPads into a mount on the back of headrests. It allowed us to freely watch our movies or play games without having to hold it, drop it, or spill anything on it. This also made it easier on our parents. Instead of having to reach back to pick it up, or struggle to help us with something, they were able to focus on driving and keeping us all safe.
If you are debating between mounts, ProClip’s phone mounts are built to last, custom fit, and rattle-free. Whether you have a short commute, or a long road trip ahead of you, ProClip mounts are exactly what you need to stay safe, make navigation easy, make your drive more convenient. Once you get a ProClip, you’ll never go back, trust me.
To go along with my #1 essential item, I have created the perfect list of summer road trip essentials, making it ten times more enjoyable, and affordable.

It’s my favorite mount. I promise it will be yours too.
- Don’t Forget a Pillow

#2 on my list of essentials is, of course, a pillow. No good passenger princess forgets one. No matter the quality, this saves my neck, and my nap schedule, when I’m on the road. Whether I have it as side support while I’m driving, resting my eyes in the passenger seat, or propping up my computer to do work on, it never fails me.
- Have a Good Playlist

Having a good playlist is VITAL on long drives. I like to shuffle through various playlists and podcasts. From Noah Kahan, to Taylor Swift, to Frank Sinatra, my playlists all provide a different vibe depending on that days mood or the weather. When that gets boring, I like to switch to The Relatable’s, Jake Shane, or mystery podcasts. Once in a while I’ll get into a good book and play the audio version. While music is fun, podcasts and books are my go-to when my eyes get heavy on the road.
- A Cooler

Another basic essential when road tripping is a cooler with food and snacks. The only thing more annoying than stopping for bathroom breaks, is stopping (again) for food and drinks. Hangry passengers is never what you want when stuck in a car together for hours on end. My go-to snacks are fruit, subs, and candy, with a side of diet coke. While everyone’s preferences differ, I think we can all agree that this is an essential.
- First Aid Kit

The last essential on my list is a first aid kit. It’s boring and probably (hopefully) will not be put to any use, but you never know. Whether a kiddo gets a scratch, or you get in a little fender bender, it doesn’t hurt to have a first aid kit in the truck.
Now that you have hopefully checked all these items off your to-do list before your trip, you can hit the road feeling confident, prepared, and ready to enjoy every mile of the journey ahead!
