How to Buy a ProClip USA Mount and Device Holder

Ready to buy that new ProClip USA vehicle mount and device holder, but not sure how to go about it?

No worries. Whether you’re a first timer or making an upgrade, you are probably eager to get your hands on that clean, sleek design that was made specifically for your dashboard.

First of all, great decision. We think you’ll be highly satisfied.

Second, there are a few things we can share to make the shopping process easier and to ensure you find exactly what you want in a mount.

Five Things You Need to Know

  1. This is a Two Part Product
To mount your phone to your dashboard you will need two pieces:

    • The vehicle mount specifically designed for your car.
    • The device holder specifically designed for your phone.

This gives you the perfect combination specifically for you, your phone and your vehicle..

  2. Know Your Vehicle
The next thing you need to determine is the model of your vehicle. We need this information because every ProClip USA mount is made specifically to fit your vehicle model. You will need to know the make, model and year of your vehicle. If you are unsure, consult your vehicle manual.
  3. Know Your Device
The third piece of information you will need is the brand and model of your phone or other device you plan to mount. For example, you may have an Apple iPhone 4, HTC Evo 4 or a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. Note that the version of your device (10.1, for example) also matters since every version of a device may have slightly different dimensions or specifications that affect how it will fit in your holder.
  4. Phone Cases and Skins
The next piece of information you should consider is whether you plan to use a case for your device. A case will add bulk to your phone, which also affects the fit of the holder. For some devices, we offer mounts to be used with a specific brand of case or skin. For example, we have a holder for the iPhone 4 / 4S with Otterbox Defender case.
If we do not offer a holder to be used with the specific case that you like, we recommend the adjustable holder for your phone, such as the adjustable holder with tilt swivel for the HTC One S. We also have universal holders to accommodate devices that are using cases, covers, belt clips, round buttons, handlebar attachments, or anything else that may affect the fit of your device in its holder.
  5. Charging Capability
To charge or not to charge? That is the question. The last piece of the puzzle is to decide if you want your mount to have charging capabilities. This is a personal preference and may depend on how much time you spend in the car. Having the ability to plug your phone in during a long drive comes in handy to make sure you are always charged and ready to go once you reach your destination. If you choose a charging holder, most devices have either a cigarette lighter adapter version or a straight power cord for fixed installation.

You’ve read our tips and now you’re one step closer to cruising down the road in style with your device mounted to your dash. We hope this helps you pick the mount you had in mind.
