Apple’s First Ever Dual-Sim iPhone
Prior to the widespread use of mobile devices, it was a trivial matter for people to work with multiple phone lines using the same phone. An office phone lets you switch from one line to the next using the same handset.
But when people began adopting iPhones in droves, they had to sacrifice some convenience because they could only use one phone number on a line. It’s true that call waiting and 3-way calling lets you communicate with multiple people during a phone call. However, it’s not the same as having actual separate lines that you can answer with one phone. So, for those people who needed multiple numbers, the only solution is to carry around two phones.
Now, Apple has begun to offer dual-sim capability in two of its latest iPhone models.
About Dual-Sim
Apple’s iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max come with Dual Sim, using nano-SIM and eSim. The eSIM works as a digital SIM, enabling you to activate a second cellular plan from your carrier, with no need for a physical nano-sim, according to Apple.
Use of the dual-sim capability will be available when Apple updates the iPhone’s iOS operating system to version 12, due out later this year.
