NYPD Voices Dislike of Waze GPS App
The New York Police Department is upset about users of the GPS app Waze reporting DWI checkpoints. Waze uses crowdsourced information from users to report traffic incidents, speed traps and heavy traffic so users can avoid those areas. NYPD says that users reporting DWI checkpoint locations are trying to impede drunk driving laws, and NYPD is demanding that Waze remove the feature. A nice reminder that reporting information about government activity is very much allowed under the first amendment.
