Every time you pick up your iPhone to do common tasks such as browsing the Web, playing videos or games or checking out your social media pages, the device draws down electricity from the built-in battery perhaps faster than you realize. What’s more, if you have location services and Wi-Fi activated, your iPhone will use a great deal of energy while you are roaming as it seeks to find and connect to various hotspots along the way.

If you find yourself frequently out and about using your iPhone with no easy way to locate a place to charge up the device, chances are you’ve wished you had a decent amount of backup battery capacity. Even those who don’t use their iPhone nearly as much would appreciate having some extra juice handy when the device’s power starts running out.

This is why many iPhone users are anticipating Apple’s apparent upcoming release of battery cases for the new iPhone XS, especially since the company never wound up releasing an Apple-branded battery case for the earlier iPhone X.

New Battery Cases for iPhone XS

Clues about upcoming iPhone battery cases appeared in images found by 9to5Mac, along with details about a possible release date. The images show there are three versions of the battery case, which would correspond to the iPhone XS, XR and XS Max.

These smartphone models have no home button and come with screens measuring 5.8 inches, 6.1 inches and 6.5 inches, meaning that the newest battery cases will be available for the first time to fit Apple’s newer, larger devices.  Pictures show that these cases are made from black leather. They also have a previously unseen ridge bump that indicates the cases are designed for Apple’s most current iPhone models.

The report from 9to5Mac indicates the new battery cases might be released before the end of 2018. This is in keeping with Apple’s previous release schedules for new products, which unveiled earlier versions of its smart battery cases in December 2015 and new AirPods in December of 2016.

Adding a battery case to your iPhone XS will make the device more convenient to use. You can gain even greater ease of use when you store your iPhone in a well-designed dashboard mount. The result is fewer distractions and a safer driving experience for you and your passengers.
