Google Nexus 5X LG Review and Car Phone Holders
The Google Nexus 5X won’t break the bank and it might not bring much phone envy from your friends. However, the Nexus 5X does make for a solid smartphone choice if you are on Team Android. Google provides the “true” Android experience with this smartphone.
Slightly different from its predecessors, though not by much, the Nexus 5X offers a smaller experience with a 5.2-inch screen, which is perfect if you are one to believe that bigger isn’t always better. If you enjoy the larger screens and are a fan of Nexus devices, you may want to check out the Nexus 6 phablet. One criticizm of the 5X is that Google has replaced the metal body with plastic, which is expected given the new price point. Although it’s not as sleek as other smartphones on the market, it does have features worth mentioning. The fingerprint sensor, for example, is probably one of the phone’s best features. It works well and is intuitively placed on the back of the phone, making it quick and easy to get into your phone, while protecting it from others. The camera has also been improved from previous models, although it still lags behind other smartphones on the market. The Nexus 5X plays nice with a lot of mobile carriers, so you won’t have any trouble setting it up with your provider. The Nexus 5X is one of the first Android phones to include Android 6.0 Marshmallow, it supports Google’s Project Fi and is available in black, white, or mint green.
The switch from metal to plastic did change the design. To put it nicely, this phone is not the prettiest gal at the ball, but it can handle more drops and bumps than most metal phones these days. In terms of design and feel, it’s not terribly better than the Nexus 5, but it’s sturdy and reliable. If you’re the type of person who cares less about appearances and more about what’s on the inside, the Nexus 5X will deliver.
The battery and memory life are average and the wireless charging that was present in the Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 seem to have disappeared in this latest update. The speakers on this phone are also not extremely note worthy, so if you’re a lover of music who uses your device to stream all day, you might want to pick a different phone.
Overall, the Nexus 5X provides a great experience for its price point, and you will get to experience Android the way Google intended it.
